Time‐resolved model for geothermal engineering in high porosity Slochteren sandstone

This work is an extension of the time-resolved poro-elasto-plastic Mohr-Coulomb model by Fokker et al to include a more realistic constitutive model. Experiments on Slochteren sandstone revealed that inelastic deformation contributes significantly in compressive almost all stages loading and instigated development Cam-Clay-like reproduce behavior. was adopted for current extension. A typical behavior this presence borehole causes both elastic everywhere reservoir, as opposed conventional philosophy with plastic zones. Our solution handles spatial temporal evolution pressures, permeability, properties under assumption symmetric loading. The applicability approach demonstrated through number cases, like fluid injection, shut-in, production, stimulation, injection-production sequence.
